About Me

Ali Strickland is a writer, inventor, and former web developer who has been writing for more than twenty years. She writes stories and nonfiction for children and young adults, focused on the meaning found in everyday moments.
Her work is rooted in a simple idea: that ordinary experiences, when noticed and written down, can become something lasting. She studied writing at Texas A&M University, where she often convinced professors to let her turn research papers into narrative, believing it was the strongest way to tell the story. She graduated early and continued her training at The Second City’s writing program in Chicago.
For Ali, writing is both art and a quiet act of rebellion, choosing to slow down, pay attention, and give meaningful thoughts a place to exist in a fast-moving world. Her work centers on overlooked moments, emotional clarity, and helping young readers better understand the world around them.
She lives in Las Vegas, NV with her wife, Jessica, and their daughter, Sophie.
